our first post...the tote

Hi gals - First off, I just wanted to say that I think this was a great idea! I believe it was Mee Ok's idea, right? I guess I just ran with it, hope everybody likes the layout and stuff. It can all be changed anyway. If you have any shopping links or pictures that you'd like to add to the sidebar, you can edit the Template yourself, or give it to me and I'll take care of it!

Anyway...on to the important stuff...

A few weeks ago, Jessica and I were on one of our marathon-power-shopping trips and she mentioned that she was on a quest for the *perfect* tote. Coincidentally, I'd been on the same quest! I think her criteria was a little different from mine though. I wanted something that I'd use in addition to my handbag, just for carrying around the things I bring to/from work with me everyday, like my checkbook, organizer, bills, etc. etc. I also didn't want it to just look like a big purse, since I didn't want it to look like I was carrying 2 purses. But I needed something, b/c for the past few months, I've been putting all that stuff into this little shopping bag...and let's face it, that just looks sloppy. *grin*

Well, one day, I was at Di's place and I saw that she had this really cute white tote. I picked it up and it met all of my criteria! Turns out, she got it at Wilson's Leather (of all places!) at the outlet mall in Aurora, about a year ago, for only $35!! So, not only was it everything I was looking for, but at a great price!

Needless to say, I had to get myself one. But I was a little discouraged to find out that she got it so long ago, and at the outlet mall. There was no way they'd still have it. Plus, I didn't want to have to drive to Aurora anyway. So I took my chances and went to the Wilson's at Lincolnwood Town Center (I hate that mall by the way), and they had it! Well, I don't know if it's exactly the same as hers (I think hers has contrast stitching), but close enough!! Original price was $150, and it was on sale for $75...too bad not $35 like Di paid, but under $100 is still good! I really wanted it in black, but they only had it in red or white, so I took the white.

So that's my tote story. Good luck Jessica! And, thanks to Di for leading me to my new tote, and for not minding that I'm a copycat!

This is kind of a crappy picture (taken with my cameraphone), but here it is:

White is quite en vogue for the season, very professional style - nicely done
