shopping in lincoln park

Did some shopping in Lincoln Park (that stretch on Halsted, between Webster and Armitage) on Saturday with Jes and Joyce. It was a beautiful day out, and I was excited to check out bluemercury and Lori's Shoes. At bluemercury, a very eager, very friendly Laura Mercier artist was somewhat anxious to get some makeup on us! Not that we didn't look beautiful already (ha), I think she was just a lil bored. Anyway, she was a little heavy-handed with the brow shadow (I've never filled in my brows, but I realized it really does make a difference), but I liked the blush/highlighter that she used on us, so I bought it. *grin* It's called Pink Mosaic Shimmer Bloc.
Spent a fair amount of time browsing in Lori's (thanks for telling me about it, Jennifer!), which I adored and will visit again and again! They have a great selection of handbags and shoes! Now I know where to go next time I'm in the mood for a new handbag! I ended up buying a necklace and a ring there, and plan to go back soon.
I also liked Blue's Jean Bar. They carry so many brands, it made my head spin a little. I especially liked the 'bar' concept: they have one pair of each jean out on the counter (or "bar"), so when you see something you like, you just ask one of the staff to get it in your size, instead of having to go looking yourself through racks for your size. I'll definitely go back when I need a new pair of jeans.
Anyway, we stopped at a handful of other places, but those were the highlights for me.....

LP shopping was definitely fun, though the price tags can be amusing (Bebe: SALE! All jeans $98!). Thanks to C2 & Jennifer for the Lori's tip; return trips required. C2, what ring did you get? I missed it! Liked the bluemercury experience this time around, and am loving my Laura Mercier eye cream. But I think when they get the Pink Mosaic in stock, I'll be trading in the Eye Basic (pretty much foundation for the lid--that still creases!) for the Shimmer Bloc. Those colors are great. Also liked Lululemon & the crops I picked up. Will have to remember that they seem to like putting only select colors on sale. Blues Jean Bar was a bit overwhelming, but seems like a great setup when you're looking for that perfect pair of jeans. All in all, a fun shopping spot!
